Pantai
Sepat or Sepat Beach is a popular destination situated off the
Kuantan - Pekan trunk road. Originally it was a fishing and farming
village. The dwellers here are mostly working as farmers and partly
as fisherman.
With
adequate infrastructure, Kampong Pantai Sepat has changed with time.
Homestay program offers visitors to experience the lifestyle of the
fishing folks. Today this place has become a very popular picnic spot
amongst people who live within the vicinity of Kuantan.
Located
only 14 kilometers south of Kuantan on the beach facing the South
China Sea, Pantai Sepat is conveniently accessible by land. There are
regular bus and taxi services from Kuantan to the village.
If
you are coming from Pekan, turn right at a junction to Sungai Soi and
proceed to Pantai Sepat via Kampung Chempaka. Express bus services
are also available from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Bharu, Johor Bharu and
Singapore to Kuantan.
Interesting
holiday packages are available for the day stay, two days one night
stay, three days two nights stay and more.
Activities
available during your stay will include cultural shows, tadisional
food and gathering (kenduri), coastal trawling, prawn fishing,river
boating, Padi Field, kite making,baboon plucking coconut and visiting
weaving centre at Kampung Sungai Soi.
‘Zapin’
and ‘Joget Pahang’ dances are the favourite dances of the village
folks whilst chicken curry, gulai kawah, roasted glutinous rice are a
must to the visitors. For takeaways there are coconut products and
pandanus.
